MUSHROOM FARMING PICKS UP IN KISHTWAR NEW RESOURCE TO GENERATE INCOME IN UNEMPLOYED YOUTHS IN J&K

 Taking a new leap towards self-reliance among people of remote parts of Kishtwar district, Mushroom farming picks up in the Chatroo area of Kishtwar district. Towards this, Indian Army 11RR had conducted a Mushroom Farming Awareness Camp in collaboration with Agriculture Department at Chhatroo Kishtwar. During the camp, youth were made aware of Button mushroom cultivation and marketing of the product. 

Subsequently, a self help group is being formed comprising  youths who were briefed on the method of cultivation of Mushroom, techniques of storage and marketing. After Briefing and Traning 100 Pkts of mushroom distributed to the youth of the many villages of Chatroo 

Seeing it as a boon, local youth expressed their gratitude towards 11RR Indian Army for the noble initiative and displayed enthusiasm for cultivation of this aromatic crop in the area.
